Becca Hanifee- Riding Lessons

  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got to the valley.  I was a professional athlete for quite some time in Dallas, TX. I grew up training and showing horses which would eventually lead me to the Valley, partly. I met my husband in Dallas and soon after we had a beautiful little girl. We searched for the slower and safer life than living in the city which led us to Dayton, VA. We wanted our kids to grow up on land and with horses and a farm.

  2. How long have you been training horses? I’ve been training horses on and off for 24 years. I’ve been teaching lessons for about 5 years. I grew up show jumping and then transitioned into barrel racing. My family flipped off the track race horses and repurposed them for sport specific ventures.

  3. Best part about working with horses?
The best part of working with horses is the confidence you gain.

  4. Worst part of working with horses?
I think the worst part of working with or owning horses is the expense. Ha!

  5. Who do you work with?
    I mainly work with beginners.

  6. What's your favorite part of teaching/training people in relation to horses?
The best part of teaching people how to work with horses is learning the psychology aspect that plays a major role.
